Economic electrolyte recipe for rehydration
We get many requests for an economic electrolyte recipe for calves. Here is one – courtesy of Chris Coxhead. He often rears up to a thousand calves each season, and has done so for ~20 years.
Ingredients
- 1kg salt
- 300g potassium chloride
- 1kg baking soda
- 10kg glucose
Combine ingredients.
Solution sufficient for 100 doses.
Dose = Add 1/2 cup/123gms of electrolyte to 2L of water.
